WYRE Forest’s new cemetery and crematorium is expected to open later this year.
Work started on the £4.2 million development in June last year and is due to be completed by late summer.
Wyre Forest District Council earmarked the site on the A451 between Kidderminster and Stourport to create the new cemetery in its 2004 local plan, as the current one in Park Lane was nearing capacity.
The district council said the new development, which lies on the plateaux above and next to the River Stour valley, had been “designed and developed sensitively with attention to detail in an attractive setting on the edge of the Stour Valley”.

Concrete plannen voor het vormen van een intercommunale
De plannen voor een nieuw crematorium in Oostende zijn zeker al tien jaar oud. Vanuit de vaststelling dat steeds meer Oostendenaars gecremeerd worden is er nood aan een crematorium in de stad. Ook voor de omliggende gemeenten zou dit een goed alternatief zijn voor de lange rit naar het crematorium van Brugge. Waar men tot nu toe enkel terecht kan voor crematie.
Toen het stadsbestuur anderhalf jaar geleden een site naast de begraafplaats aan de Nieuwpoortsesteenweg naar voor schoof, kwam er zo veel protest dat het plan om daar een crematorium te bouwen werd afgevoerd.

De stichting Weesp tegen Crematorium heeft alle politieke partijen uitgenodigd voor een goed informeel gesprek. De stichting wil weten hoe de Weesper politiek denkt over de komst van een crematorium aan de Utrechtseweg.
Op dit moment is er al gesproken met twee partijen. De andere partijen hebben de uitnodiging nog in beraad, of willen nog niet ingaan op de komst van het gebouw. Myosotis/Dela wil een crematorium bouwen naast begraafplaats Carspelhof. Per jaar moeten er ongeveer 700 crematies gaan plaatsvinden.

RESIDENTS have voiced objections to proposals for a crematorium and cemetery in Rugby.
Over 100 people have raised concerns about plans to develop the facility on land off Ashlawn Road after viewing plans at Paddox Methodist Church where they were on display over the weekend.
The proposal for the £3 million crematorium and cemetery has been developed jointly between Rugby Borough Council and Daventry District Council.
Coun Noreen New, ward borough councillor for Paddox, said she has been contacted by scores of residents who are unhappy with the proposals and plan to hand in a petition to Rugby Borough Council by the end of the week.

Im Juli entfallen die Führungen über die Saarbrücker Friedhöfe, die der Friedhofs- und Bestattungsbetrieb (FBS) sonst regelmäßig am letzten Donnerstag im Monat anbietet. Die nächsten Friedhofsführungen finden wieder am Donnerstag, 25. August, statt.
Die Führung des FBS durch das Krematorium findet auch im Juli statt. Los geht es am Freitag, 29. Juli, 15 Uhr, am Eingang des Krematoriums auf dem Saarbrücker Hauptfriedhof.

Le cimetière et le crématorium de Camp Laurent, annoncés depuis trente ans, verront-ils enfin le jour sous le mandat de Marc Vuillemot ? On n'ose y croire : depuis le début des années 1990, toutes les municipalités ont annoncé que ces équipements seraient achevés sous leur mandat.
La première adjointe, Raphaëlle Leguen, en charge des cimetières, s'est démenée depuis le début du mandat pour faire aboutir ces deux projets, jugés « prioritaires ».

Avec un total de 1 459 crémations en 2010 le crématorium de Reims dépasse ses objectifs. Le délégataire OGF va installer un second four. Les tarifs devraient passer de 465 € à 517 €.
GESTIONNAIRE jusqu'en 2025 du crématorium de Reims, le groupe OGF vient de publier ses résultats pour 2010. Compte tenu de la fermeture du site pour travaux, l'évolution du nombre de crémations a sensiblement diminué par rapport à 2009 (- 1,7 %) pour atteindre les 1 459 unités. Sur l'origine des défunts, il faut noter que 64,08 % d'entre eux sont originaires de la Marne dont 38,04 % de Reims, un pourcentage en hausse de 10,91 %.

Alice Rollins, 81, died from cancer on July 18 at her home in Benhill Road in Sutton.
The distraught family attended a funeral at the Lower Morden Lane Crematorium on July 21 to pay their last respects.
Following the service, thieves walked into the crematorium and took a vase and a basket full of flowers and also a large wreath which spelled out the word "Mum".
Daughter Sandra Sansom, 62 said she felt physically sick when she found out what had happened.

But Mitch Winehouse eloquently put all that misplaced criticism and wayward speculation to rest at his daughter's funeral yesterday.
During his eulogy in Edgware, at the crematorium in Golders Green, followed by a gathering at Southgate Synagogue, he handled himself with dignity and class. He held back his emotions as the day he feared for the past five years finally arrived.
